Does he still like me?

me and him had a thing on and off for a year. we both dated other ppl. 5 months we were going steady but he wanted to be in a relationship and i didnt. he ended things with me and got a girlfriend. one day he text me and kept asking who i liked and i wouldnt tell him. the next day him and his girlfriend broke up. he's only text me once since then and that was about 2 weeks ago. so does he still like me? help! and if he does, should i take him back? He's always been a jerk to my bestfriend and most people dont like him but i seem to be the only one who sees the good in him.
