Would you support a 3rd party that abandoned ideology and ran strictly on a platform of fiscal responsibility?

I would support that party as long as they had a firm stance and stuck to it. And the Tea Party may seem partisan--but it's not. While it's true that RINOs and DINOs alike keep trying to snake their way in and claim their spot, most of us aren't buying into it. The last event I went to, a candidate took the stage for a minute. (that is all he was allowed) Literally, a minute. It wasn't hard to tune him out ten seconds into it. He was just a typical politician. And ideology will always take a part and should--that's part of your principles. But if they left party out of it...you bet!!
